I made some chages to my front cover
  • I changed the colour of my masted and the name of magazine to better fit the genre
  • I added some cover stories and faded them out around the images
  • I changed the photo to one of higher quality

Research and planning: changes to double page spread

I changed the photo for my double page spread to one of higher quality and chnaged the layout so it looks for professional.

  • I split the layout in two with the image one one half and the text on the other.
  • I added a faded out L and B underneath my interview.
  • I added the website in the corner on top of a shape.
  • I added a stroke to indie solo artist to make it stand out.
  • I changed the colour scheme so it matched that of my content page and double page spread both of which I also renovated.

Research and planning: magazine production techniques

I have used a wide range of techniques to create a magazine that I was happy with I used:
  • opocity to fade the l underneath my main article.
  • I have used  differant fonts for my quote so it stands and from the rest of my magazine .
  • I have used strokes around my main headlines so they stand out more clearly.
  • I have rotated a shape and angled it to create the shape in the corner of my magzine.

Research and planning: serif post

I have used a serif font beause it is the easist to see and the majoriy of magazines use these fonts
as shown below the image explians how serif and san serif font are differant from each other.

Research and planning: publication plan

publication plan

Name of my magazine
I have chosen to name my magzine freedom as I felt that this was the best name to communiate my message about freedom of expression and to be yourself. I had orginally planned to use the name mirage but I found that this was not relatable enough to my genre of indie music.
Price
The price of my magazine will be £3.00 as  when I looked at other magazie such as Q they were all round about this price and I want to keep my price within the main frame of price as I dont have a good enough reputation yet to have a higher price.
Selling Line
My selling line is "the UK's number 1 indie music magzine" I chose this because it is simple and links back to the genre of magzine but also add a link to the country it will be sold which will be the UK.
Distabution
I will disbutute my magzine in supermarkets as these are visited by thousands of people everyday so I will be able to reach a wide audience and a lot of people on a daily basis. I will also use a website where you can subscribe online so that if people shop online they can still get my magazine.
Frequecy
I will produce my magazine once on month as that I when the mojority of magazine based on music such as Q come out and alsio becuase while music change all the time new songs are brought out over time they don't just come out all at once and also songs rise through the charts so doing one magazine every week I might just end repeating myself a lot.
Reguler content
I have for reguler content such as fan letters that fans will have sent in before every new issue
  • Gossip
  • Fan letters
  • Ablum review
  • Music video review
featured content
I have for featured content
  • Live music review
  • Interview with lucia blake
  • Upcoming artists
  • Win game
  • Win tickets
  • List of events

Research and planning double page spread story

I have chosen to do an interview with an artist for my double page spread story I have looked at others and they ask questions related to music like:
  • Is the artist touring?
  • Do they have a new album?
  • Most embrassing momnets?
  • Who are there biggest inspreation?
  • Have they had any carrer defining experiance?
  • What have they struggled with in the past?
  • What do they enjoy the most about the music industy what do they hate?
I have used this to create my own interview story with an artist for my music magzine.

Research and planning: inspieration for change

In the final stage I felt that my magazine did not fit the genre as best as it could potenially be so I looked at some example magazine covers and contents page and I used them to expand and build and my intitel design to make it fit the genre better. All of the magazine tend to be simple with plain backgrounds and then faded with a splash of bright colour. I also liked the issue number that comes of the word content of the phrase "contents page" at the top  as it liked how it was simple yet creative. Furthermore I also liked that they had images with the page number of the article that they correspended to so I will do this for my own contents page as well.
